NIGERIA ORGANIC AGRICULTURE

Nigeria Organic Agriculture Network, NOAN, was
developed with intent to achieve the Missions and Goals of Olusegun
Obasanjo Centre for Organic Research and Development, OOCORD, amongst
which are:
To develop research and knowledge exchange on sustainable, organic
agricultural systems to address the duel needs of food security
and income generation for the public good in Nigeria, West Africa
and Africa as a whole. OO-CORD shall work through a collaboration
of its target end-users: farmers, with scientists and other stakeholders.
To be actively involve in farming practices and systems that rely
on biological processes which are renewable, non-polluting, and
mutually beneficial to both farmers and society.
To adhere to the four overarching principles of
organic agriculture, those are: the principles of health, ecology,
fairness and care.
